There will come a time that you wished you had trained harder.
“It’s how you play your cards, not what cards you play.”
AMRAP in 25 minutes
Hearts: Burpees
Clubs: Jumping Slam Balls
Diamonds: Pullups
Spades: Wall Balls
Today each team plays cards in a game of high-stakes high intensity.
- Each team is dealt a hand of one card/teammate.
- The team must complete the work that hand represents, but for every hand, one teammate must rest.
- As the team completes all of movements, the whole team comes back to the dealer to draw another hand.
- Face cards are 10, Aces are “11″
- Each rep is a point.

I’m with Ryan on the “dessert” thing. Here’s some paleo pecan bars. Omit the chocolate, sub a small amount of honey for the maple syrup. I can make a batch of these and ration them out for two weeks! They help soothe a sweet tooth, but still have some good for you stuff in them.

Heard that the team WOD was lots of fun today. Hoping to get in on a Saturday next month. Whenever I am struggling with my paleo goals, it is always my sweet-tooth causing the problem. Here is a great NYT article on why sugar is so bad. I have read it over and over, and it helps beat back the cravings. Mind over matter!

So my remedy for a sweet tooth is not food but tea.. Celestial apple cinnamon spice is Aaamazing, especially with a little honey. It is also caffeine free and great for an after dinner tea. Can be found at teeter, giant, commissary… And more!
Good team WOD today everyone!
I kinda got inspired with how easy and good home made burgers were a couple of weeks ago. This is what I’m doing this week: http://civilizedcavemancooking.com/entrees/beef/honey-mustard-burgers-with-sweet-potato-apple-hash/
I have been following Robb Wolf’s attempt to declare his perspective on “Low Carb” Paleo diets recently. All the articles have been interesting so far (and enjoyable) so here is part 3: http://robbwolf.com/2013/01/09/thoughts-carb-paleo-episode-3-hope/
Check it out. Only $39 for $479 worth of Paleo ebooks. Sale ends tomorrow, the 14th. I’ve found that the key to staying on track with a healthy lifestyle is having good options and recipes easily available to me. This “Toadally Primal Wellness Bundle” includes a lot of great information for a reasonable price.

I guess I need to NOT SHARE with others as they STEAL my tips. What the heck!?!
Looking to build out you Paleo cooking resources? How about 33 ebooks for $39? A $480 retail value!!
Many of these books are not at the top of my Paleo cookbook list but WellFed, the wild diet and Paleo crockpot cooking are near the top of my list and cover the $39 retail cost by themselves. The rest are FREE. I use my tablet when cooking and if others do the same this is a great deal. I believe today may be the last day though so act fast. (no, I don’t have anything to gain here, just paying the deal forward)
